Bay Area Kicks Off June with Warmest Day of the Week
US · Published Jun 2, 2026
The Bay Area is set to experience its warmest day of the week on Monday, June 1, 2026, as weak high pressure builds over Northern California.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, temperatures will rise significantly compared to the cooler, unsettled weather seen at the end of May.
Inland areas such as San Jose, Sunnyvale, and Mountain View are expected to reach the low to mid-80s°F (27-29°C), while Morgan Hill and Gilroy may approach 90°F (32°C).

Why It's Important?

The warm weather will primarily affect inland areas, where temperatures could climb into the upper 80s°F (31°C) or higher. While this is not expected to be a major heat event, residents in warmer inland locations like Morgan Hill and Gilroy should take precautions to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. Coastal areas will remain cooler, reducing the risk of heat-related issues. However, the return of low clouds and fog overnight may impact visibility for drivers near the coast.
